YMCA East Surrey - WAVES Project

YMCA East Surrey (Registered Charity No. 1075028) runs the Horley Young People and Family Centre, providing support for low income families, including children’s mental health support.

On 11th April ‘24, we ran a workshop as part of the WAVES project, providing mental health support to young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. 9 attendees made the Small Terrarium with materials funded by the Terrapy Pay it Forward Scheme.

We explored the importance of creativity and horticulture when managing mental health, and all attendees were equipped with knowledge to garden indoors at home without spending money.

We donated 10 hours of our time to the project, and absorbed other ancillary costs.
