All Purpose Terrarium Gravel

Terrapy All Purpose Terrarium Gravel is responsibly sourced in the UK and tried and tested to provide a great foundation to any of your tropical or arid terraria. It can be used to construct a false bottom, or as a terrarium safe decorative stone.

The drainage layer, the literal foundation of your terrarium, needs to be rock solid. It provides a permeable layer for water to drain into so that the soil is never submerged. This helps to keep your terrarium fresh and healthy and avoid issues like root rot. This gravel is our go-to for terrarium bases and has been cleaned and heat treated for complete peace of mind.

Consider reusing waste instead of buying new!

If you have gravel at home, it might be perfectly fine for a drainage layer! Check to make sure its not chalky (we don’t want calcium carbonate leaching into the soil!) and boil it well to sterilise it for use.
